North Bay Music This fall, Pivot Charter School North Bay is filling campus life with new opportunities for students to build skills, explore their passions, and form lasting friendships. Our supplemental on-site programs complement independent study by offering active, hands-on spaces where learning comes alive and students feel truly connected.

For our youngest students, the North Bay Elementary program meets every Monday and Wednesday. It offers a warm, fun environment where students socialize, participate in interactive group activities, and learn to love learning through hands-on experiences. Elementary students also enjoy monthly field trips.

For middle and high school students, weekly hands-on workshops in math, science, and English give them practical ways to dive deeper into their subjects. A major highlight this semester is Ms. Amber Herman’s Creative Writing class, which has drawn so much student excitement that it has reached standing-room-only attendance. The class focuses on critical thinking and voice, using discussions on rhetoric, mythology, and real-world topics to help students relate classroom concepts directly to their own lives and experiences. For high schoolers who benefit from extra structure to reach graduation, our Grad Track Program provides individualized support plans, career path exploration, and guidance with concurrent enrollment at Santa Rosa Junior College.

Creative expression and personal interests are another big part of campus life at North Bay.  Through our membership with the Live Musicians Co Op, music students have access to professional, soundproof practice spaces equipped with drums, amps, and PA systems. They spend time mastering scales, learning chord progressions, and writing original songs to perform live at our annual PivotPalooza Winter and Spring Concerts. Students can also explore their interests through a wide variety of weekly clubs, including Greek Mythology, Art History, Art & Culture Around the World, Quilting, Sewing, Dungeons & Dragons, and Games Club.

Staying active is another option through Pivot’s partnership with Chop’s Teen Club. In this partnership, Pivot rents a full-sized gym for our Middle School and High School Basketball Clubs. Students practice line drills, work on fundamentals like layups and free throws, and play scrimmages while building teamwork and confidence. Groups like our Community Service Walking Club give students another fun way to stay active while giving back.

Whether taking the court, making music, or discovering a new passion in a weekly club, North Bay students are making the most of their time on campus.
