Hello Pivot Families,

As we approach the end of the first semester, it is common for our students to start to feel an increase in their anxiety and feelings of uncertainty. This time of year can be a stressful time for all, and your school counseling department is acutely aware of how this stress can impact your child’s health, mood, self-esteem, and outlook towards life.

This year, we have all needed to muster our resilience to approach the challenges imposed by COVID-19 and shelter-in-place. We have all witnessed how the isolation and uncertainty created by this pandemic have led to depression and anxiety. Resilience grows strongest when it is fostered in community. Even though we are distant, we are not alone. Reach out to friends, loved ones, your neighbors, spiritual leaders, and community leaders. We are stronger together.

On behalf of the school counseling department, I would like to share with you resources in your community that can support you and your children during these uncertain times.

If you or anyone you know is struggling and needs to talk to someone, please call 1-800-273-8255 or text HOME to 741741 to speak with a trained crisis counselor.
