Guadalupe Lopez and Pam Malowe graphicA student’s future can take many paths, and Pivot Charter Schools is expanding the ways they can discover what’s possible. This school year, we have introduced two new roles dedicated to career exploration and family engagement: Career Pathways and Industry Partnerships Coordinator Pam Malowe and Bilingual Outreach Coordinator Guadalupe López. Together, they help students and families access valuable resources and connections that extend far beyond the classroom.

In her role as Career Pathways and Industry Partnerships Coordinator, Pam connects students with hands-on experiences to prepare them for life after graduation, including job shadowing, internships, and guest speaker events.

“I’m excited to help students discover possibilities they may not have considered before and give them opportunities to explore different career paths firsthand. By connecting students with professionals and real-world experiences, we can help them better understand their interests, what it takes to reach their goals, and the opportunities available to them,” said Pam.

While Pam helps students look toward their futures, Guadalupe works to strengthen the bridge between Pivot, students, and their families today. In her role as Bilingual Outreach Coordinator, she is focused on making school resources more accessible to all students  ensuring every family can actively participate in all that Pivot has to offer.

Her initial priorities include expanding Spanish-language communications, conducting a needs assessment across Pivot’s four sites, and building partnerships with local community organizations. She is focusing on supporting all students at the four Pivot schools with a focus on our students for whom English is not a primary language, foster students and our unhoused students.

“I want families to see Pivot as more than just a school,” said Guadalupe. “I intend to introduce resources ranging from library access and parent support groups to wellness services and other hands-on support to all Pivot campuses for families to have a hub of community support all in one place.”

Together, these new positions reflect Pivot’s commitment to supporting students and families beyond academics. Whether guiding students toward an exciting career path or connecting a family with community resources, Pivot is ensuring our community has the support they need now and the confidence to take on the future.
