Three years ago, Jacob Hoeppner wasn’t sure he’d receive his high school diploma. This June, he’ll be wearing his cap and gown with pride as he graduates from Pivot Charter School North Valley.
“Pivot has greatly impacted my life,” says Hoeppner. “Through the curriculum, Pivot has helped me succeed, and the Educational Coordinators are always helpful and willing to work with us get to where we need to go for us to graduate.”
Hoeppner, who hasn’t attended a traditional public school, chose Pivot because he “liked the educational coordinators and the environment they promote.” He also felt that Pivot provided a great learning atmosphere for their students.
Like many other public charter schools, Pivot allows students to learn in an environment that’s suitable to their needs, and Hoeppner, who started attending Pivot as a freshman, feels that this is one of the many aspects that make Pivot the best school he’s attended. “The freedom to choose your schedule and move through classes at your own pace is a very nice feature that Pivot offers its students. The Educational Coordinators are always willing to help us achieve what we thought was impossible, and to persevere through our class work.”
Hoeppner looks forward to finishing his classes, graduating and celebrating with his classmates, family, and friends. After graduation, he plans to join the Air Force. We look forward to hearing about his future successes!
