Pivot is excited to announce the opening of its newly expanded North Bay facility, designed to provide a safe, welcoming environment for its growing student body. What began as a single suite has now grown into a spacious 15,619 square feet, offering room for students from elementary through high school to learn and thrive.
“We moved into this space with the intent of creating a comfortable environment for both students and staff,” said Jayna Gaskell, Executive Director of Pivot Charter Schools. “The primary goal of the new facility was to expand the number of students who could come to campus each day and receive support from credentialed teachers. We also created a more welcoming space with stand up desks, collaboration tables and sitting areas for teachers to collaborate.”
The facility refresh included new paint, flooring, updated furniture, and repurposing previously underused areas into larger, functional classrooms. We also added additional security measures to a new entryway to ensure students and families feel safe. This expansion supports Pivot North Bay’s variety of program offerings, including a four-day morning program with meals for students who need them, and an afternoon program providing extra academic support. Staff also benefit from increased space, including two conference rooms that enhance collaboration and meetings with families.
“Our goal has always been to create environments where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential,” Jayna continued. “This expanded facility allows us to better serve our growing community and ensures that every student has the space and resources they need to succeed.”
While North Bay currently has the largest student body and number of students regularly attending its resource center, all Pivot sites are designed with the same commitment to safety, flexibility, and student support. Each school offers tailored programming, on-site staff support, and welcoming environments that meet the needs of their specific communities. Across Pivot, students can benefit from concurrent enrollment opportunities, community service involvement, and access to arts and music programs that enrich their overall educational experience, whether they attend in person or virtually.
This expansion at North Bay reflects the very heart of Pivot Charter Schools: to provide all students, across every site, with access to a high-quality, individualized education in safe, supportive spaces. Whether students engage primarily online or take advantage of in-person offerings, every Pivot campus is equipped to meet diverse learning needs and nurture personal growth. As our communities continue to evolve, we remain committed to creating opportunities for students to thrive.
